The Governance Committee shall address all governance issues pertaining to and including:
- Receiving from the General Assembly and reviewing proposed amendments to the Constitution of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.).
- Receiving from sessions and reviewing proposed overtures to the General Assembly.
- Reading of session minutes.
- Reviewing minutes of Presbytery meetings.
The Stated Clerk shall be an ex-officio member of the group and serve as its Moderator.
Overtures from Church Sessions to the General Assembly which call on the Presbytery to take action must be received by the Stated Clerk no later than forty-five (45) days before the meeting of Presbytery. The Stated Clerk shall include a copy of the overture in the notice of Presbytery's meeting for the advance study and consideration by members of Presbytery.
