Members of the Finance & Stewardship Committee:
- Six members nominated by the Committee on Nominations and approved by the Presbytery; three year terms; eligible for re-election; one half clergy and one half laity; elect own moderator; finance experience helpful
- General Presbyter and Treasurer, ex officio
Responsibilities:
- Oversee Presbytery funds through the administration of Restricted Funds and the regular review of the Presbytery’s financial reports
- Conduct budget negotiations in line with requests from Mission Teams and other entities of the Presbytery
- Assure completion of an annual audit and submit audit to the Administrative Team for review
- Evaluate the giving patterns of the churches of the Presbytery along with the self-allocations of the churches
- Develop an annual budget for review by the Administrative Team and approval by the Presbytery
- Review the work of Presbytery’s financial staff
- Provide advice and assistance to Mission Teams in the allocation of aid to congregations
