Members of the Personnel Committee:
- Six members nominated by the Committee on Nominations and approved by Presbytery for three year terms; eligible for re-election; one half clergy and one half laity; elect own moderator; experience in personnel administration helpful
- General Presbyter, ex officio
Responsibilities:
- Review and evaluate work and job descriptions of General Presbyter, Associate Presbyters, John Knox Center Director, and Stated Clerk, annually, recommending to the Presbytery through the Administrative Team any changes in call, including separation from employment
- Review office operations with General Presbyter
- Recommend changes in compensation of Presbytery employees to Finance & Stewardship
- Recommend changes in job descriptions of Presbytery employees to the Presbytery through the Administrative Team
- Oversee the work of support staff including hiring, annual performance reviews, recommending terms of employment to the Presbytery, and (if necessary) separation from employment
- Review and revise the Personnel Policy Manual of the Presbytery of East Tennessee to keep it up to date
- Resource and counsel with the staff and negotiate difficulties related to jobs and personnel
