The Presbytery of East Tennessee

Older Adult Ministry Group (PresOAM)

This "sub-committee" in our Presbytery is dedicated to the proposition that, through the church, older adults need to extend Christ's love and care to people who need it, and to accept Christ's love and care from others when they need to receive it.  Groups of older adults within congregations are able to make the proposition work.  The Presbytery OAM Group meets quarterly to deivse and implement OAM ministry in congregations, to increase the visibility of existing ministries across our Presbytery, and to provide events of interest.

PresOAM Statement of Purpose

The Older Adult Ministry Group works to affirm the unique worth and qualities of Older Adults by developing and sustaining ministries that contribute to their spiritual, mental, physical, emotional, and social well-being.
