Faithful Politics, August 8-11 – “If God Doesn’t Quit When Things Get Political, Why Do We?” For all the talk about faith and politics in the media, there are precious few conversations in our congregations about faithful political engagement. It is time to do better. This is not a conference about particular issues, political partisanship, or choosing sides. It is a conference that calls us to trust in the messiness of politics, from the congregation to the city council to the Congress. For more details and registration information visit http://www.montreat.org/398.
- BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND! Church Unbound, August 11-14 – “Becoming a Gospel Force in the World” If we believe God yearns to turn the church loose to be a Gospel force in the world, how can we partner in what God is doing? Differences – of culture and color, gender and generation, political perspective and theology – are gifts to be explored and celebrated as we live into a Church Unbound. Featuring author, speaker, and pastor Brian McLaren. For more details and registration information, visit http://www.montreat.org/386.
