Qualifications

In order to apply to the Youth Council, you must meet the following qualifications:

1. Have been an active participant in your high school youth group (as your church defines it)

2. Actively attending a PC(USA) Church in the Presbytery of East Tennessee

4. Be able to communicate well with peers.

5. Be able to collaborate well with other Youth Council members.

6. Be mature enough to take retreat material seriously.

7. Be able to learn and implement skills taught in training.

8. Be able to authentically share my own faith and faith experiences.

9. Be able to live in faith, according to the teachings of Christ found in scripture.

Commitments

In joining the 2022-23 Youth Council, you are committing to the following:

1. I will commit to attending all Youth Council Events, including:

Orientation (Aug 19th-20th, 2022)
Middle School Retreat (Sept. 23-25th, 2022)
Youth Summit Planning (January 27-28th, 2023)
High School Youth Summit (Feb. 17-20th, 2023)

We understand that emergencies may arise, and you may be forced to miss sometimes. However, we expect Youth Council to be a priority if you commit to it. If you already have several other priorities which will always come before Youth Council (for example team sports, where you can never miss a practice or a game), please consider whether Youth Council is really something you can commit to or not. If attendance becomes an issue, Youth Council leadership will initiate a conversation about expectations moving forward.

2. I will commit to responding in a timely fashion to communication from Youth Council leadership.

3. I will commit to supporting and encouraging my fellow Youth Council members, in word, and in deed, as we continue this journey of faith together.
